Seth Dugan Named CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Junior Seth Dugan from Western Michigan men's basketball has been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team, announced Thursday by organization officials.

Dugan becomes the first Bronco since Austin Richie is 2015 to earn Academic All-District First Team honors and is one of just two players from the Mid-American Conference to receive the recognition.

The Ostego, Mich. Native is one of just 41 NCAA Division I student-athletes across eight regions to be voted first team. He now advances to the CoSIDA Acadmeic All-America Team ballot, with first, second and third team honorees set to be announced in March.

In the classroom, Dugan is majoring in finance and has a cumulative grade point average of 3.96. On the court, the seven-foot center averages 4.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 19 games played. Over the past five games, Dugan has been productive off the bench for WMU, averaging 5.8 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Last season, Dugan earned Academic All-MAC and MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete honors.
