Steiner played a big role last weekend for the Broncos, helping WMU improve to 8-2 on the season and 5-0 at home. The Brown & Gold defeated William & Mary (6-1) in dominate fashion on Saturday, Feb. 17 before dropping their first match since Jan. 20 at No. 13-ranked Michigan on Sunday, Feb. 18.

The German picked up his 19th overall win, including his sixth at No. 1 this spring and fourth straight after defeating the Tribe's Christian Cargil 6-1, 6-2. He followed that up by taking No. 42-ranked Hua of Michigan to the third set at No. 1 before the match was called. The senior leads all Broncos with an overall record of 19-6 and 6-2 this spring, all of which come at the one spot.

The MAC Player of the Week is the third overall for the Brown & Gold this season as Steiner has racked up two honors while sophomore Jannik Opitz was named singles player of the week back on Jan. 24.
