Steiner helped Western Michigan improve to 7-1 on the season and pick up its fourth straight win after defeating Michigan State (5-2) on the road, the team's second win over a Big Ten opponent this season.

After WMU dropped the doubles point, Steiner evened the match at 2-2 after defeating Brett Forman (6-4, 6-3) at No. 1. The senior is now 18-6 overall and 5-2 in dual play, all of which come at the one position.

The MAC Player of the Week is the second overall for the Brown & Gold this spring season as sophomore Jannik Opitz was named singles player of the week back on Jan. 24.

Western Michigan (7-1) has a pair of matches this weekend beginning at home on Saturday, Feb. 17 as the Broncos welcome William & Mary inside West Hills at 11 a.m. before hitting the road to face Michigan on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 4 p.m. at the Varsity Tennis Center. Admission to all home tennis matches is free.
