DES MOINES, Iowa – The Western Michigan men's tennis team got back on track Sunday afternoon, defeating Tennessee Tech 4-0 at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center on the campus of Drake University. The Broncos finished the three-match weekend 2-1, improving to 4-1 on the season.

After falling in a close 4-3 match against Drake yesterday, the Broncos came out on a mission to play against the Golden Eagles. The Brown and Gold swept all doubles matches to earn the doubles point and as a team are now 10-5 in dual-match season. Leading the way in doubles play so far is the dynamic duo of
Eric Olivarez and
Nick Schnobel, who are 4-1 together after defeating Tennessee Tech's duo Jorge Alfonzo and Wenceslao Albin 7-6 (2) at No. 2.
In singles play, the Brown and Gold clinched the match after sweeping three straight. Olivarez got it started winning 6-2,6-4 at No. 4 to improve to 4-0 this spring while sophomore
Kennosuke Nouchi at No. 2 followed suite to put the Broncos ahead 3-0. Clinching the match was junior
Matej Svjetlicic, defeating Gonzal Garcia (6-3,6-2) as he improves to a perfect 5-0 this spring.
The remainder of the singles matches went unfinished.
The Broncos return to Kalamazoo for a mini two-match home stand, hosting Butler and Illinois State on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. inside West Hills. Admission to all home tennis matches is free.
