KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After briefly returning to action to beat Bowling Green 5-2, the Western Michigan hockey team holds steady at No. 12 in both the US College Hockey Online and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls.
WMU sits 11-8-1 overall and 6-4-0 conference play, tied for third in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference heading into a bye weekend. The Broncos are in the nation's top 15 for the sixth-straight poll and have also spent three weeks in the top 10. Western Michigan is one of six teams in the USCHO.com poll and one of four in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
The Broncos are back in action next weekend when they travel to No. 2 St. Cloud State to resume NCHC play on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game is at 8:37 p.m. and Saturday's at 7:07 p.m. Both can be seen live on NCHC.tv and heard live on the Bronco Radio Network. WMU returns to Lawson Ice Arena on Jan. 19-20 to host Colorado College. Friday's game has been moved to a 6:30 start and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
