Josh Davis Earns MAC West Player of the Week Honors

CLEVELAND –  After registering a career-high 27 points against Chicago State, Western Michigan men's basketball junior guard Josh Davis has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week.

Davis against the Cougars on Saturday recorded a career-high 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field while also knocking down a career-high five three-pointers. Davis neared a double-double as well, collecting eight rebounds along with four assists in 24 minutes played.

The Detroit, Mich., native scored in double figures for the third time this season and collected his first career 20-point performance against CSU. With eight rebounds against Chicago State, the junior guard has now had at least eight rebounds in eight games this season.

Davis ranks sixth in the MAC with 7.8 rebounds per game and is second on the team with 9.7 points per game. Davis continues to have a stellar junior campaign, registering career-high season totals in minutes, field goals made, three-pointers made, free-throws made, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals and points.

Davis and the Broncos open up MAC play at home tonight at 7:00 p.m. against defending MAC regular season champion, Akron.
