After Iowa won the first doubles match of the day, the duo of Eric Olivarez/Nick Schnobel earned a 6-4 win at No. 2 to improve to 2-0 this season and bring the doubles point down to the final match. The Hawkeyes earned a 7-6 (1) win at No. 1 to claim the point.

As Iowa claimed the second point in the first singles victory at No. 4, sophomore Kennosuke Nouchi got things started at the No. 2 spot as he defeated Smietana for his first singles win this spring (7-6, 6-1). Sophomore counterpart Jannik Opitz, nationally ranked senior Maik Steiner and juniors Matej Svjetlicic and Olivarez followed suite, winning their matches and sealing the Bronco victory to pick up their first win over a B1G opponent since beating Purdue on Jan. 23, 2016.

Continuing their three-game weekend in Iowa, the Broncos will face Drake tomorrow at 7 p.m. before facing Tennessee Tech at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
