IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Western Michigan men's tennis team remained undefeated this season as the Broncos defeated Iowa 5-2 on the road, the first win over the Hawkeyes since Feb. 19, 2012. WMU improves to 3-0 in the spring and will continue play in Iowa tomorrow against Drake at 7 p.m.

After Iowa won the first doubles match of the day, the duo of

Nick Schnobel earned a 6-4 win at No. 2 to improve to 2-0 this season and bring the doubles point down to the final match. The Hawkeyes earned a 7-6 (1) win at No. 1 to claim the point.
As Iowa claimed the second point in the first singles victory at No. 4, sophomore
Kennosuke Nouchi got things started at the No. 2 spot as he defeated Smietana for his first singles win this spring (7-6, 6-1). Sophomore counterpart

Matej Svjetlicic and Olivarez followed suite, winning their matches and sealing the Bronco victory to pick up their first win over a B1G opponent since beating Purdue on Jan. 23, 2016.
Continuing their three-game weekend in Iowa, the Broncos will face Drake tomorrow at 7 p.m. before facing Tennessee Tech at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
