THIS WEEK
For the first time since Dec. 9, the Western Michigan hockey team returns to Lawson Ice Arena to host Colorado College on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game has been moved to 6:30 p.m. to accommodate the national broadcast by CBS Sports Network. Saturday's game is at the normal 7 p.m. time.

LAST WEEK
WMU earned a hard-fought split at No. 2 St. Cloud State last weekend, taking the opening game 7-5 and losing on Saturday, 4-3.

In Friday's win Hugh McGing gave WMU a very early 1-0 lead on a breakaway goal. SCSU responded with three goals to take a 3-1 lead into the second period. McGing netted his second of the night just seconds into the second period to cut the lead to 3-2. The goal sparked a 4-0 run by WMU, with Corey Schueneman tying the game at 3-3 and then he set up Jade McMullen's goal that gave the Broncos a 4-3 lead. Neal Goff tallied at 12:19 in the second period to push the lead to 5-3. Lawton Courtnall added the first of two empty-net tallies, with the Huskies tallying two late goals to set the final at 7-5.

On Saturday the Broncos took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal by Dawson DiPietro with just 6.4 seconds left in the first period. SCSU tied up the game at 8:22 in the second period before Paul Stoykewych's short-handed goal gave WMU a 2-1 lead. The Huskies tied it up on a goal by Ryan Poehling with 2:13 left in the second period and then took a 3-2 lead on a power play goal just 5:50 into the third period. Schueneman netted his second of the weekend to tie it up at 3-3 but St. Cloud scored the game-winner with 4:28 remaining.
