KALAMAZOO, Mich.-Â The Western Michigan women's tennis team resumes the 2017-18 season with a match against Oakland on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 11:00 a.m. inside West Hills Athletic Club.Admission to all home women's tennis matches is free.

Western Michigan enters Saturday owning a six-match winning streak against Oakland and won last season's meeting 6-1 with singles victories coming from junior Melina Lyubomirova, junior teammate Denise Azcui and redshirt senior Barbare Eristavi.
Last spring WMU went 10-13 overall, 4-4 in the Mid-American Conference and made an appearance in the MAC Tournament as the No. 6 seed.
The Broncos last competed at the Bronco Super Challenge back on Nov. 3-4 at West Hills. Lyubomirova, sophomore Gabriela Slavova and freshmen Valeria Riegraf and Jeryn Jack all picked up wins in the final day of competition. Slavova finished the fall season on a three-game winning streak and leads the team with five wins. Azcui and Jack are right behind with four wins. Â
After Saturday, Western Michigan hits the road to Bloomington, Indiana for a pair of matches on Saturday, Jan. 20 for two matches against Indiana at 9:30 a.m. and then Butler at 1:30 p.m.Â
