Football Posts Second-Best GPA in Program History

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan football team earned high marks in the classroom during the fall semester, achieving a team grade-point average of 3.08, the second highest in program history.

In total, the Broncos had 61 student-athletes with a fall semester GPA of 3.0 or higher and 33 players made the Dean's List with GPAs of 3.5 or better. Ten Broncos managed to carry perfect 4.0 GPAs in the fall.

Western Michigan had 16 players earn Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors, the second most in the league. Five players were voted as Distinguished Scholar-Athletes by the MAC's faculty athletic representatives. WMU also produced a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and twice was recognized for having the MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
