Men's Soccer Ranked 3rd in Region

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) released its first rankings of the season. The Western Michigan men's soccer team found itself receiving five votes for the top 25. The Broncos also were ranked third in the Great Lakes region.  
 
The No. 3 ranking is the highest the Broncos have received since September 15, 2015. This was also the last time the WMU men's soccer team was ranked inside the top 25, landing at No. 24.
 
Ahead of the Broncos is fellow Mid-American Conference opponent West Virginia at No. 1 and upcoming opponent Butler at No. 2.
 
WMU started its season with a dramatic comeback win against LIU Brooklyn 3-2 and a dominate performance against Stetson winning 4-0.
 
Western Michigan plays at Eastern Illinois Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. Then comes back to the WMU Soccer Complex Monday, Sept. 4 to host Cincinnati at 3 p.m. Admission to all WMU home soccer games is free.
