DAYTON, Ohio - The Western Michigan women's soccer team heads to Wright State on Thursday at 7 p.m., for its first away match of the season.

BRONCOS START HOT
WMU opened the season with a commanding win over Oakland, 3-1. Â The Broncos outshot Oakland 13-4 and led the way in corner kicks 9-1. Junior midfielder
Colleen McKay and sophomore defender
Savanna Bosworth both scored their first career collegiate goals, while senior
Emma Kahn added her first goal of the season. Indiana transfer
Grace Labadie picked up her first career assist off a corner to McKay. Redshirt senior goalkeeper
Stephanie Heber chipped in two saves helping her receive her 37th career win. The Broncos have started 1-0 in the in the past four seasons.

SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
Wright State is 1-1-0 coming off the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas. The Raiders won their first game against Weber State late in the game with a goal from Niki Romero. Wright State then faced host UNLV and lost 5-1. Â

Wright State finished 2016 with a 6-11-2 record with an appearance in the Horizon League Tournament. The Raiders are returning their top two goal scorers from the previous season in junior forward Aaliyah Patten and junior midfielder Mattie Cutts. Also returning are top assist leaders redshirt senior Niki Romero and senior Sarah Colvin.

SERIES HISTORY
Wright State leads the all-time series match up 3-2-1. WMU won the last match on Sept. 1, 2014, 1-0 in double overtime.
