KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan men's soccer will hold walk-on tryouts for the 2017 season at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the WMU Soccer Complex. To try out for a Western Michigan varsity athletic team, you must be a current, full-time student at WMU.
If you plan on trying out you must contact Assistant Coach Shane Lyons at shane.e.lyons@wmich.edu and submit a soccer resume and grades before the tryout.
Current and incoming students will also need the following:
  • Current class schedule Â
  • Photo ID Â
  • Proof of Insurance Â
  • Copy of Transcripts
  • Copy of ACT Scores Â
  • Current Physical, including sickle cell test from a physician
  • At least a 3.0 GPA for those already enrolled at WMU
A physical, sickle cell test, and insurance paperwork MUST be completed to attend the tryout session. A PDF of the required physical form, as well as insurance form, can be downloaded at the top of this page. No form is necessary for the sickle cell test. A copy of the results should be turned in with physical and proof of insurance.Â
Physicals and sickle cell test may be done on campus at the Sindecuse Center or by a family physician. *Please note, appointments are needed for physicals at the Sindecuse Center, contact: (269) 387-3290. Physicals must have be performed in the last six months.Â
