LAS VEGAS – Former Western Michigan equipment manager Pat Maino has been hired to the position of assistant equipment manager for the National Hockey League's Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Maino joins the first-year franchise after spending two seasons with the AHL's Ontario Reign. He was Broncos' equipment manager during the 2014-15 season after graduating from WMU in 2014 with a degree in exercise science. Maino also spent time in the equipment room as a student, serving under then long-time equipment manager Dion VanAtter.

The WMU hockey program and head coach Andy Murray would like to extend congratulations to Maino on his new job.
