Brandon Bye Named to NPSL National Team of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan midfielder Brandon Bye was voted to the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Team of the Week. Bye is playing this summer for the Minneapolis City FC and had a goal and an assist in the team's 3-1 win over Sioux Falls Thunder on June 9.

Collegiate soccer players are allowed to participate on top-level men's amateur soccer clubs during the off season. A total of 16 Broncos are suiting up on teams across the NPSL and the Premier Development League (PDL). WMU goalkeeper Drew Shepherd was named to the PDL Team of the Week a week ago.

Bye is the Broncos' top returning offensive player this fall. Last year as a junior, he was a First Team All-Mid-American Conference selection and earned Second Team All-Great Lakes Region honors. He led WMU and finished second in the MAC with 21 points on eight goals and five assists.
