Volleyball Announces 2017 Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan volleyball team and head coach Colleen Munson have announced its schedule for the upcoming 2017 season.

The schedule features 10 regular season matches and an exhibition game with Ferris Stat on Aug. 18 to kick off the season. After the exhibition the Broncos head on the road for two straight tournaments at Tennessee and Xavier. In Knoxville, WMU will battle the host Volunteers, George Washington and Wofford. Down in Cincinnati, Western Michigan opens the tournament against Texas State, followed by the host Musketeers and then Cincinnati.

The Broncos host Oakland as a part of the Holliday Inn West Invitational on Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. WMU also hosts Southern Illinois as part of the tournament on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. Western Michigan heads out to one last tournament at UNC-Wilmington before beginning Mid-American Conference play.

The quest for a MAC title starts at University Arena against defending champions Northern Illinois on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. WMU also hosts Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Ohio, Bowling Green, Toledo and Ball State. On the road in MAC play the team will take on Miami, BSU, UT, Akron, Buffalo, EMU and CMU.
