Hufnagel and Anderson Fall Shy at NCAA East Prelims

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Western Michigan track and field's Jordan Anderson and Lindsey Hufnagel both just fell shy of qualifying for the quarterfinals at the NCAA East Regional Preliminary Championships at the University of Kentucky on Thursday.

Hufnagel came the closest, finishing just two spots outside of the qualifying zone in 26th. The senior ran a time of 59.98 seconds, taking fourth in her heat. It was the fifth time on the season that Hufnagel broke the 60 second mark in the race.

Anderson ran a time of 2:11.94 seconds, just over two seconds shy of the final qualifying spot.

The two will have one more chance to compete, along with Davonne Bolden and Keyera Lige in the 4x400-meter relay on Saturday afternoon. The Broncos need to finish in the top 12 to move on to the NCAA Championships.
