KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan redshirt sophomore Andrew Stone was named the College Sports Madness Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Week after his exceptional performance over the last week.

Stone helped the team go 3-1 over the past week, including a sweep over Buffalo at home in the last action in Kalamazoo for the 2017 season. Over the week, Stone hit .400 (6-for-15) with a double and led the team in runs (four) and tied for the team-lead in RBI (five). He also tied for the team-lead in walks (two) and was second with a .471 on-base percentage over the last four games. Stone recently qualified to be the team's leader in batting average, as the Portage, Mich., native is hitting .381 to lead the team.
The No. 6 seeded Broncos will face No. 3 seeded Eastern Michigan in the MAC Tournament opener on Wednesday, May 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Sprenger Stadium in Avon, Ohio.
