KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan junior outfielder Tanner Allison was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) West Player of the Week for the third time this season following his nice week at Notre Dame and at home against Buffalo.

Allison had a historic regular season finale, as the junior broke the WMU single season RBI record in Saturday's win over Buffalo. He passed Frank Alferi's previous high of 63 set in 1999, a record that stood for 17 full seasons at WMU. Allison now has 66 RBI this season after another nice week at the plate where he hit .375 with a home run, three doubles and five RBI. Over the last week, Allison led the team in doubles and slugging percentage (.750) while tying for first in RBI and hits. He had 12 putouts in center field without an error as he helped lead his team to their first MAC sweep since 2015.
The No. 6 seeded Broncos will face No. 3 Eastern Michigan in Avon, Ohio on Wednesday, May 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Sprenger Stadium.
