KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan men's tennis placed four student-athletes on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) team in seniors Matt Hamilton and Daniel Loebel and sophomores Eric Olivarez and Nick Schnobel.

Hamilton is a three-time Academic All-MAC team member while Loebel has been named to the team in each of his two years at WMU. Nominees must have a 3.20 GPA and have participated in half of the team's matches.
Matt Hamilton / Senior / 3.99 GPA / Finance
Hamilton was named First Team All-MAC and to the All-MAC Tournament Team after finishing 24-9 overall in singles and 5-2 in the MAC. He ended his career tied for 10th in all-time wins in WMU history and tied for fifth in career singles wins with 104. He went 20-7 in doubles and 5-1 in the MAC while going 15-3 in dual matches. The Wyoming, Mich., native was a two-time MAC Doubles Team of the Week winner … MAC Singles Player of the Week winner on Feb. 15.
Daniel Loebel / Senior / 4.00 GPA / Finance
Loebel was named All-MAC Second Team and was a two-time MAC Doubles Team of the Week winner. He and partner Kennosuke Nouchi reached as high as No. 75 in the ITA Doubles Rankings. He finished 13-11 in singles and 4-2 in the MAC and went 16-10 overall in doubles and 2-2 in the MAC.
Eric Olivarez / Sophomore / 3.65 GPA / Pre-Accountancy
Olivarez was a two-time MAC Doubles Team of the Week winner and went 21-9 overall and 1-3 in the MAC in singles, including a 9-3 record at No. 6. He finished 18-2 in doubles and a perfect 6-0 in the MAC while he and partner Jannik Opitz went a perfect 11-0 at No. 3 in doubles.
Nick Schnobel / Sophomore / 3.28 GPA / Pre-Mechanical Engineering
Schnobel finished 11-2 in singles and ended the season on a five-match winning streak. Went 14-7 in doubles play and 10-3 during the fall season.
