KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team placed five on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) team. The five Broncos named to the team were senior Tracy Kuhle, junior Olivia Myers and sophomores Denise Azcui, Katja Fevralev and Melina Lyubomirova.

Tracy Kuhle – Senior – 3.97 GPA – Marketing
Kuhle finished 16-14 in singles and went 5-3 in the MAC. She had a team-best 19-16 record in doubles and 4-2 in the MAC. Kuhle finished sixth in career wins in WMU history counting both singles and doubles wins.
Olivia Myers – Junior – 3.51 GPA – Exercise Science
Myers finished 12-14 overall in singles and 1-3 in the MAC. She went 15-9 in doubles and 2-2 in the MAC.
Denise Azcui – Sophomore – 3.95 GPA – Pre-Industrial & Entrepreneurial Engineering
Azcui won the team's coaches' award after finishing 20-13 in singles and 4-4 in the MAC. She went 17-17 in doubles play and 3-4 in the MAC. Azcui has been named a team captain for the 2017-18 season.
Katja Fevralev – Sophomore – 3.47 GPA – Fashion Merchandising & Design
Fevralev went 12-18 in singles and 1-7 in the MAC. She also finished 17-15 in doubles and went 4-2 in the MAC.
Melina Lyubomirova – Sophomore – 3.78 GPA – Pre-Business
Lyubomirova finished 14-18 overall in singles and 1-7 in the MAC, all of which came at No. 1 or No. 2 in the lineup. She went 17-17 in doubles and 2-4 in the MAC and was named MAC Singles Player of the Week on March 1.
All of the programs faculty athletic representatives will vote for the MAC Distinguished Scholar Athletes, which is considered the best of the best of the Academic All-MAC teams.
