BCAM recognizes players who are nominated that, "put the team before themselves, have great teamwork, commitment, service and sacrifice. This special achievement is a great honor and should not go unnoticed."
Shipman, a Fort Wayne, Ind., native, was named Third Team All-MAC after finishing top-20 in many statistical categories in the conference. She was second in steals (2.4), seventh in 3-point field goals made (77), seventh in minutes played (34.6), 11th in assists (3.4) and 19th in scoring (12.4). She was also named the team's WMU Teammate Award and the WMU Booster's Choice Award.
Shipman's name is scattered all over the WMU record book, as she finished with the fourth most 3-pointers made in a career (177), tied for the second most 3-pointers made in a season (77) and is top-13 in both career assists and steals.
Last season, former point guard Alex Morton won this same award.
