DEKALB, Ill. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team dominated Northern Illinois 6-1 Sunday afternoon on the road, improving the squad to 14-7 overall and 5-1 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) while winning their third straight and seventh of their last eight.

WMU won the doubles point and claimed five of the six singles points, with the lone loss coming at No. 6. In doubles, the duo of Kennosuke Nouchi/Daniel Loebel earned a 6-3 win at No. 1 to clinch it while Matt Hamilton/Maik Steiner got the Broncos started with a 6-1 win at No. 2.
In singles, the Brown & Gold's wins came pouring in to open, as WMU took the first four to clinch the match and lead 5-0 before NIU got a win at No. 6. Nouchi, who is ranked No. 111, earned a quick 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 followed by a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 4 for Loebel and a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 by Steiner to clinch it. Later in the match, Hamilton, who just won his 100th career singles match on Friday, earned a comeback 2-6, 6-1-10-6 at No. 2 and Matej Svjetlicic came back at No. 5 to win 2-6, 7-6 (4), 10-5.
The Broncos have one final match before the MAC Tournament comes to Kalamazoo, as WMU hosts Toledo on Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m.
