KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan men's tennis has a big weekend of Mid-American Conference (MAC) play, first heading to Ball State on Friday, April 14 at 1 p.m. and then facing Northern Illinois on the road Sunday, April 16 at 1 p.m.

The Broncos enter the weekend 12-7 overall and 3-1 in the MAC, coming off a 4-3 win over Binghamton on Monday. Ball State comes in at 11-9 overall and 2-1 in the MAC while NIU is 13-9 overall and 2-3 in the MAC and a perfect 6-0 at home.
In singles, Jannik Opitz leads the team with a 23-8 record, but freshman Kennosuke Nouchi is 22-7 overall, 4-0 in the MAC and has won 10 straight to help him jump back into ITA Tennis rankings at No. 111. Eric Olivarez comes in at 21-7 overall and is 9-1 at No. 6 while Matt Hamilton is 19-9 overall and 7-3 in his last 10 matches, looking for win No. 100 in his career.
In doubles, the team of Daniel Loebel/Nouchi leads the team in wins with an 11-7 record while the duo of Opitz/Olivarez, who are fresh off being named the MAC Doubles Team of the Week, come in with a perfect 8-0 record and are 4-0 in the MAC.
After this weekend, the Broncos have one final match before the MAC Tournament, as WMU hosts Toledo on Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m.
