COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan hockey senior forward Sheldon Dries has been named Second Team All-National Collegiate Hockey Conference, as announced by the league on Wednesday afternoon.

Dries joins Chase Balisy (2013-14) as only the second Bronco to make the All-NCHC team. Freshman goalie Ben Blacker also received honorable mention.

The Macomb, Mich., native finished the conference season with 22 points on 12 goals and 10 assists. Dries was recently named NCHC Player of the Month in February after putting up 11 points. He ranked third in the conference in faceoff wins with 274 and was the top shot-blocking forward in the NCHC with 42. Only stats from conference games are taken into consideration in the voting by the league's head coaches.

This the first All-Conference honors for Dries in his four-year career.

Western Michigan hosts Omaha in the NCHC Quarterfinals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (if necessary). All games are slated for 7 p.m. starts. Tickets are available for just $15 by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX and online at wmubroncos.com/tickets. All games will be broadcast live on NCHC.tv.
