KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team is looking to keep its perfect Mid-American Conference (MAC) season alive this weekend, playing host to Buffalo on Friday, March 31 at 5:30 p.m. Depending on weather, the match will either be outside at Sorensen Courts or indoors at West Hills Athletic Club.

The Broncos come into the match at 11-6 overall and 2-0 in the MAC after defeating Ball State and Toledo last weekend, both matches coming at home where WMU is now 8-2 this season. Buffalo will enter at 7-5 overall and 2-0 in the MAC, coming off a loss at Harvard last weekend. The Bulls defeated Binghamton and Northern Illinois on the opening weekend of MAC play.
In singles play, three Broncos have reached 20 wins in Jannik Opitz (23-7), No. 120 Kennosuke Nouchi (20-7) and Eric Olivarez (20-7). Senior Matt Hamilton had a monster weekend, defeating both of last season's Co-MAC Players of the Year. He leads the team this spring with a 13-3 record while Nouchi is 12-5 and has won eight straight matches. Matej Svjetlicic is 18-9 overall while Maik Steiner is 12-10 and has won his last four matches.
In doubles play, the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams carried the Broncos last weekend. Hamilton/Billy Heckman are now 5-0 together and Opitz/Olivarez are 6-0 at No 3, helping the Broncos to claim both doubles points last weekend.
The Broncos will take the rest of the weekend off following Buffalo, then will host Binghamton on Monday, April 10 at 3 p.m.
