KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan women's tennis will head down south to the state of Virginia for spring break, first battling William & Mary on Sunday, March 5 at 11 a.m. and then facing Old Dominion on Monday, March 6 at noon.

"We're looking forward to playing some outdoor tennis against two very good teams this weekend," head coach Ryan Tomlinson said. "We continue to play good teams week in and week out preparing us for our conference schedule. We had a good week of practice after a tough loss last Friday and I'm looking forward to getting back at it this weekend. Fight On!"
The Broncos enter spring break with at 5-5 overall, with no losses against mid-major opponents. The Tribe, who are members of the Colonial Athletic Association, are 4-7 but have a match against Maryland on Friday. The Monarchs, who are members of Conference USA, enter at 6-3 overall but have two more matches until they face WMU.
The Broncos are 14-10 in doubles during dual match play this season, with the duo of Olivia Myers/Denise Azcui leading the way at 4-1, all of which have come at No. 2 in the lineup. Tracy Kuhle/Katja Fevralev are 3-1 together this spring, all coming at No. 3.
In singles play, Melina Lyubomirova is fresh off being named the MAC Singles Player of the Week after a win over Erin Faulkner of Michigan State. She's 13-8 overall and leads the team at 7-3 during the spring. Barbare Eristavi leads the team at 17-5 overall this season and is 6-4 in the spring. Azcui is 15-7 while Fevralev is 11-7 and Myers is 11-10.
The Broncos will take the rest of the week off after the trip to Virginia, returning to action on Saturday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at Bradley before MAC season starts with Ball State on Friday, March 24 at noon.
