KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan gymnastics team saw numerous records set on Saturday at the MAC Championships in Bowling Green. The Broncos scored 196.075 as a team, the second-highest score in program history and tied the program record on beam with a 49.175.
 
Individually, Rachael Underwood set a new WMU record with a 39.325 in the all-around after scoring a 9.800 or higher on all four events. Her day was highlighted by a 9.850 on vault and floor. Her 9.850 on vault was a career-high, good for second in the event.
 
Senior Anna Corbett won the vault with a career-high 9.925, which tied the WMU program record. It marked the second time in her career to win a title at the MAC Championships after capturing the MAC All-Around title in 2015. She finished the 2017 Championships with a 39.025 in the all-around.
 
The Broncos had two gymnasts score a 9.900 in their final event of the day on beam, the third highest beam score in program history as the team scored the previously mentioned 49.175. Jessica Juncaj set a career-high with the 9.900, tying with Jessie Peszek who tied the 9.900 she had previously accomplished twice in her career.
 
Peszek's 9.900 was her second of the day after doing so in the event before on bars, winning the event title. It marked the third time this season she scored a 9.900 or higher on bars and the third title she has won this season. Her 9.900 led the team to total a 49.100, the fourth-highest in program history.

Following the meet the Broncos had three named to the All-Tournament team as Corbett, Peszek and Underwood were named to the team. Peszek was also named the MAC Senior Gymnast of the Year for her performance throughout the year.

Western Michigan now owns a Regional Qualifying Score of 195.405, the highest in school history. The team will now earn its postseason fate on Monday at 4:00 p.m.
