KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the fourth time this season, the Western Michigan men's tennis team swept the weekly Mid-American Conference (MAC) Awards, as Kennosuke Nouchi won MAC Singles Player of the Week and the team of Jannik Opitz/Eric Olivarez won MAC Doubles Team of the Week.

Nouchi earned a win over Ben Stride of the No. 49 ranked Drake Bulldogs, winning a tough 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 battle at No. 2. The win extended his winning streak to four matches as he improved to 16-7 this season and 8-5 in the spring, with a perfect 3-0 record at No. 2.
Opitz and sophomore Eric Olivarez improved to a perfect 2-0 this season together with a 6-4 win over Stride/MacGeoch of the No. 49 ranked Drake Bulldogs in the team's only match this week. The two earned the doubles point clincher over the Bulldogs, helping the team to an early 1-0 lead.
WMU will host two straight home matches before the seven-match Mid-American Conference (MAC) slate begins. The Broncos will host Wright State and Grand Valley State on Sunday, March 19 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, at the Maple Street YMCA in Kalamazoo.
