KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team will host two straight home matches before the seven-match Mid-American Conference (MAC) slate begins. The Broncos will host Wright State and Grand Valley State on Sunday, March 19 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, at the Maple Street YMCA in Kalamazoo.

Freshman Jannik Opitz became the team's first 20-match winner last week against Drake, as he moved to 20-6 overall and 8-5 in the spring. Senior Matt Hamilton leads the team this spring with a 10-3 record and is 7-3 in his last 10 matches. Eric Olivarez is 18-6 this season and 8-2 in the fall while Kennosuke Nouchi is 16-7 overall and 8-5 in the spring.
In doubles play, the duo of Nouchi/Daniel Loebel are ranked No. 76 in the nation with an 8-5 record. Hamilton/Opitz are a perfect 5-0 this season and Billy Heckman/Nick Schnobel lead the team in wins with a 10-6 record.
WMU opens MAC play with five straight home matches, first starting with Ball State on Friday, March 24, with a 3 p.m. start outside and 5 p.m. start inside.
