KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's basketball team held the annual end of season banquet Sunday afternoon at Cityscape Events Center, where the team announced the team award winners along with honoring lone senior Meredith Shipman.

Team MVP
Breanna Mobley / Sophomore / Lansing, Mich. / Lansing Waverly
Mobley was named to the All-MAC Tournament team following the conclusion of the season, making her the first since 2003 to win the award. She was also named Third Team All-MAC after finishing the MAC season averaging 14.8 points and 10.2 rebounds while shooting 57.4 percent from the floor. She led the MAC in offensive rebounds (4.5 RPG) and finished second in field goal percentage and overall rebounding (10.2 RPG). Mobley set the single season rebounding record at WMU with 307, passing Pat Charity's record of 296. She finished with 13 double-doubles this season, including a 20-point 18-rebound game against Akron on the road.
Defensive Player of the Year
Deja Wimby / Sophomore / Fort Wayne, Ind. / Snider
Wimby was named to the prestigious All-MAC Defensive team after leading the MAC in steals (2.9) and being tasked with guarding the opposing team's best guard. Wimby averaged 11.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.7 steals per game this season and nearly recorded the program's first triple-double on multiple occasions, with the closest coming against NIU in the final game of the regular season where she had 15 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds.
Sixth Player of the Year
LaTondra Brooks / Junior / Oak Lawn, Ill. / Oak Lawn
Brooks played in 26 games and made 10 starts throughout the year, averaging 3.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists. She had a career-high 14 points at Central Michigan where she shot 7-for-7 from the floor. She had a streak where she made 13 consecutive field-goals that spanned over three games.
Most Improved Player
Aneisha Carlisle / Junior / Kalamazoo, Mich. / Kalamazoo Central
After missing the 2015-16 season, Carlisle came back to play in 30 games this season with two starts. She averaged 1.6 points and 1.1 rebounds per game, but was a spark on the defensive side of the ball. She scored a career-high eight points against Eastern Kentucky in the UMKC Tournament.
Teammate Award & Booster's Choice Award
Meredith Shipman / Senior / Fort Wayne, Ind. / Snider
Shipman was the leader of the team as the only true senior, as she was named Third Team All-MAC after averaging 12.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.5 steals per game. In the record books, she tied for second for the most 3-pointers made in a season (77), had the eighth highest free-throw percentage (.833) and tied for the eighth most steals in a season (76). In her career, Shipman finished fourth for 3-pointers made (177), tied for the third highest FT percentage (.814), was ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (.348), 11th in assists (285) and 13th in steals (159).
P4 Award
Kenndi Showerman / Junior / Jackson, Mich. / Vandercook Lake
Audrey Oswalt / Junior / Fulton, Mich. / Athens
Showerman and Oswalt are both walk-ons that gave it their all for the entire season, helping the Broncos on the scout team while each appearing in two games this season.
