Nouchi went 1-1 over the weekend in the state of Tennessee, but the freshman earned a monster win over Cameron Klinger, Vanderbilt's No. 1 player, in a nail-biter. Nouchi topped Klinger 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-7 and is now 12-5 this season, with all seven of his matches coming at No. 1. Klinger was named an ITA All-American, Second Team All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman Team last season. He was coming off a win over Thai-Son Kwiatkowski of Virginia, a two-time All-American that was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
Hamilton/Opitz went a perfect 2-0 over the weekend. First the duo defeated Billy Rowe/Lachlan McPhee of Vanderbilt 6-3 and then took down Gian Issa/Miguel Negre of Middle Tennessee 6-2 in the Broncos win over the Blue Raiders.
Last week, sophomore Matej Svjetlicic won the Singles Player of the Week and Billy Heckman/Nick Schnobel won Doubles Team of the Week.
The Broncos host three-straight matches this weekend, welcoming in Michigan State on Saturday, Feb. 11 at noon and both Valpo (1 p.m.) and Wayne State (6:30 p.m.) on Sunday.
