KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team jumped up one spot to eighth in both the US College Hockey Online and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls on Monday.
WMU is coming off a win and a tie over Arizona State and have now spent each of the past three weeks ranked in the nation's Top 10. The Broncos also sit fifth in the Pairwise ranking, a predicator for at-large bids in the NCAA Tournament.
Western Michigan has now been ranked in 12 consecutive polls, dating back to Nov. 14.
The Broncos head off to Omaha for a National Collegiate Hockey showdown with the Mavericks on Friday and Saturday. Both games can be seen live on NCHC.tv at 8 p.m. and heard live on the Bronco Radio Network. WMU is back at Lawson Ice Arena on Feb. 17 and 18 against North Dakota.
