KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team heads into its final week of the regular season ranked No. 8 in both the US College Hockey Online and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls.
The Broncos (19-8-5, 12-8-2-1 NCHC) have wrapped up home ice for the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Quarterfinals ahead of its regular-season finale series against No. 2/3 Minnesota Duluth this weekend. WMU took four points with a win and a tie against Colorado College last weekend to bring the NCHC Playoffs to Lawson Ice Arena for the first time in program history.
This is the sixth-straight week that Western Michigan has appeared in the Top 10 of either poll and the team has now been ranked in the last 15 polls.
Western Michigan welcomes the Bulldogs on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Saturday night will honor WMU's senior class prior to the start. Tickets are available, starting at just $12, by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX and online at wmubroncos.com/tickets.
