COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Western Michigan hockey team placed 16 student-athletes on the Academic All-National Collegiate Hockey Conference team, with nine earning a spot on the NCHC Scholar-Athlete team.
Colt Conrad (3.31), Sheldon Dries (3.50), Taylor Fleming (3.21), Neal Goff (3.48), Trevor Gorsuch (3.44), Aaron Hadley (3.79), Will Massey (3.32), Jade McMullen (3.41), Scott Moldenhauer (3.92), Griffen Molino (3.88), Aidan Muir (3.71), Collin Olson (3.97), Corey Schueneman (3.54), Paul Stoykewych (3.53), Frederik Tiffels (3.66) and Richard Zehnal (3.01) all earned spots on the Academic All-NCHC team. To be eligible for the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must compile a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average or better while having completed at least one academic year at his current institution.
Dries, Hadley, Modlenhauer, Molino, Muir, Olson, Schueneman, Stoykewych and Tiffels all earned NCHC Scholar-Athlete team honors for posting a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
In addition, WMU's freshmen class will have the opportunity to be added both lists once the spring semester is finished.
The eighth-ranked Broncos welcome No. 13/12 North Dakota on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game can be seen live on CBS Sports Network and Saturday's on NCHC.tv.
