KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan men's tennis saw it's amazing 27-match home winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon, as Michigan State topped the Broncos 4-3 at West Hills. WMU falls to 4-4 overall, with all four losses coming against Power Five schools.

The Broncos opened this season 2-0 at home, went 10-0 last season and 15-0 in 2014-15, with the last home loss coming in the final match of the 2013-14 season.
The Spartans put the pressure on early by claiming the doubles point with wins at No. 3 and No. 1. The duo of senior Matt Hamilton/freshman Jannik Opitz, who were just named the MAC Doubles Team of the Week, earned a 6-3 win at No. 2 to improve to 3-0 this season.
In singles, MSU wasted no time taking a 3-0 lead, earning wins at No. 2 and No. 5. The Broncos stormed back, as Matej Svjetlicic, Eric Olivarez and Matt Hamilton earned the next three wins to make it 3-3, with the match clincher coming at No. 1, but Spartans came away with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 1 to take the match.
The Broncos are home again for two matches on Sunday, Feb. 12. Starting with Valpo at 1 p.m. and ending with Wayne State at 6:30 p.m.
