KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team will look for a pair of wins this weekend home and away, first heading to Cleveland State on Friday, Feb. 3 at 3 p.m., and returning home on Sunday, Feb. 5 to battle UIC at 10 a.m.

The Broncos come into this weekend at 3-2 overall and a perfect 3-0 at home while the Vikings enter at 0-3 and UIC is 1-1. WMU is fresh off a 7-0 win over IUPUI at home, where the team didn't drop a set the entire match. The Broncos are 3-0 all-time against Cleveland State and 23-2 against UIC.
"We are playing two quality opponents this weekend, it's going to take solid singles and doubles play from all to be successful this weekend," second year head coach Ryan Tomlinson said. "We love playing in front of our fans at home, we stress taking care of our home court. FightOn!"
Four WMU players have 3-2 records in singles play this spring, including senior Barbare Eristavi who boasts a 14-3 overall record. The other three are senior Tracy Kuhle and sophomores Denise Azcui and Melina Lyubomirova. Azcui is second on the team in wins at 13-4 overall while freshman Gabriela Slavova is 10-5 this season.
In doubles, Kuhle/Lyubomirova lead the team with a 7-5 record while Eristavi/Slavova are a perfect 5-0 this season.
Following this weekend, the Broncos will head to Milwaukee for a pair of matches, first taking on Marquette at 4 p.m. on Feb. 10 and then facing Iowa at 1 p.m. on Feb. 11 in a neutral setting.
