KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Western Michigan head softball coach
Kathy Leitke has announced the signing of three future Broncos to National Letters of Intent. Dominique Jimenez (Pico Rivera, Calif./El Rancho HS), Maggie Kehoe (Evergreen Park, Ill./Marist HS) and Madeleine Peters (Aliso Viejo, Calif./ Mater Dei HS), will continue their academic and athletic careers at WMU next fall.
"We excited for another strong recruiting class," Leitke said. "All three players bring a strong level of character, talent and hard work to the 2022 class of Bronco Softball."

Dominique Jimenez | Pico Rivera, Calif. | R/R | C/3B
Was second-team all-league her junior year … named defensive player of the year her freshman and sophomore seasons … .333 batting average with 61 hits and 42 RBIs … four-year letterwinner in softball … three-year letterwinner in volleyball ... plays travel ball with Monarchs 18 Gold SoCal ... daughter of Brian Jimenez and Mia Leos ... born on 12/24/99.
Leitke on Jimenez:
"Dominique is an all-around strong athlete which has a strong presence on the field. She is also gaining valuable experience competing regularly against the top competition in the country. Dominique is very poised, yet enjoys commanding the field as a catcher and has versatility in the infield. Her offensive power could make an immediate impact as a Bronco."

Helped Marist High School win state championship in 2015 … won conference championships in 2015 and 2016 … team finished fourth at state in 2017 … hit .388 and had a .937 fielding percentage as a sophomore … was a two-time gold glove winner ... was team captain in 2017, despite missing season with injury ... had a .368 batting average and a .954 fielding percentage during summer ball in 2017, playing with New Lenox Lightning ... daughter of Bill and Sue Kehoe ... has an older sister, Maria, and an older brother, Michael ... was born in Liuzhou, China on 9/9/99.

"Maggie brings a fiery personality to the middle infield with intensity and strong communication. She is self-driven and disciplined in the classroom and towards developing her game. She will bring quickness to the Bronco offense and defense.
Madeleine Peters | Aliso Viejo, Calif. | R/R | C/UT
Helped team win state championship and California Interscholastic Federation championship in 2016 … named defensive player of the year … hit .352 in summer and fall ball with three home runs and 16 RBIs … played travel ball with Huntington Beach Monarchs Fastpitch 18U Gold ... team finished fifth in TCS Nationals in 2016 and ninth in PGF Platinum in 2017 ... daughter of Alvin and Megan Peters ... has three younger sisters, McKayla, Mariah and Mylee ... born on 7/18/00.

"Maddie possesses a hard-nosed love for the game and competition. She swings a strong bat and has the experience of playing against the highest level competition. She is commanding behind the plate, yet, as a confident communicator she will make for a positive connect in the Bronco battery. Maddie is committed and hungry to grow her game and to make an impact."
