Broncos Look to Bounce Back Friday at Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – After suffering its second home loss of the season, the Western Michigan men's basketball team looks to bounce back on the road at Milwaukee on Friday, Dec. 22.

Scouting the Broncos
The Broncos have an overall record of 6-5 and have clinched at least six wins in non-conference action for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. WMU is averaging 75.6 points per game and is led by senior guard Thomas Wilder who ranks fourth in the Mid-American Conference with 19.2 points per game.

One of the Best in the State
Averaging 19.2 points per game, Wilder has the third highest scoring average in the state of Michigan amongst NCAA Division I programs.

Upperclassmen Leading the Way
The five upperclassmen on the 2017-18 roster are leading the way for the Broncos this season as the five have accounted for 62 percent of WMU's total points.

On the Horizon
This is the fourth Horizon League opponent the Broncos have faced this season and have a record of 2-1 with victories over Cleveland State and Detroit Mercy. In program history, WMU is 60-45 against Horizon League opponents.

In the Spirit of Giving
Western Michigan ranks fifth in the MAC in total assists with 150 and has five players with double digit assists.

Stealing the Show
The Broncos are one of the best teams in the conference in swiping the ball away from the opponent as WMU ranks second in the MAC with 7.6 steals per game. Wilder ranks 23rd in the NCAA with 2.4 steals per game and 26th in total steals with 26.

One of the Tougher Schedules
WMU is playing yet another tough schedule this season as the Broncos play seven teams that are ranked or receiving votes in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll.

Scouting the Panthers
Milwaukee has an overall record of 7-5 and is coming off a 73-56 victory over Loyola who was ranked No.6 in the latest Mid-Major Top 25 poll. On the boards, the Panthers are led by Bryce Nze who ranks third in the conference with 7.8 rebounds per game. Brock Stull is the leading scorer for Milwaukee with 13.4 points per game.
