SNEAK PEAK AT THE BRONCOS
The Broncos (3-4), who have recently finished the ultra-competitive Gulf Coast Showcase, return home on Thursday after an extensive seven-game road trip to start the season. Western Michigan went 1-2 overall in Florida, falling to St. John's and RV Rutgers before defeating East Tennessee State on Sunday. Junior Breanna Mobley led the Broncos in the three-game tournament averaging 19.7 points and 7.7 rebounds while tallying her 21st career double-double against nationally recognized Rutgers.
Junior Deja Wimby nearly missed out on her first triple-double against ETSU on Sunday notching 15 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. In her second start of her early career, freshman Jordan Walker recorded a career-high 16 points against the Buccaneers to go along with a career-high seven rebounds and five assists. After Thursday's contest WMU hits the road again on Sunday, Dec. 3, facing its third Big Ten opponent in the last 15 days in Michigan State. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. inside the Breslin Center.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
Western Michigan is 43-30 when playing at University Arena under Clipfell, including an impressive 12-2 record in the 2014-15 season. Clipfell's team has never finished with a below .500 home record in five seasons. Clipfell and his squad are also 4-0 in home season openers. In 2016-17, the Broncos opened with a 6-1 record at home with the lone loss coming against No. 21 Michigan State in overtime. WMU finished the home season with a 73-66 win over Miami in the opening round of the MAC Tournament.
APPROACHING A MILESTONE
Redshirt senior transfer Marley Hill is just 29 points away from reaching 1,000 career points. In her second season with the Brown & Gold, the forward has averaged 13.3 points in 39 games for a total of 520 points with Western Michigan. Prior to her time at WMU the transfer played her first two seasons with Cincinnati, pouring in 451 points for the Bearcats.
PUSHING THE TRIPLE-DOUBLE MARK
Junior guard Deja Wimby is no stranger to the triple-double mark, finishing one rebound shy of WMU's first ever triple-double against Northern Illinois last season with 15 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds. The Fort Wayne, Ind. native just missed out last time out against East Tennessee State in the final game of the Gulf Coast Showcase on Sunday as the guard tallied 15 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. For the season, the 2018 Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List player averages 8.3 points and 5.7 rebounds while also leading the team with 36 assists.
ROOKIE SEASON
In her first season in a Bronco uniform, former Michigan Miss Basketball Jordan Walker has made a big impact for WMU appearing in all seven games making two starts. The Muskegon, Mich. native leads the team with 12 steals and averages 7.3 point and 3.6 rebounds, shooting 34 percent from the field. Walker drained a career-high four three-pointers against East Tennessee State on Sunday to notch a career-high 16 points to go along with a career-high seven rebounds and five assists.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
The low post unit made up of redshirt senior Marley Hill and junior Breanna Mobley have been trouble for opponents in the first seven games of the season. Hill recorded her third career double-double off a game-high 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds at New Mexico State back on Nov. 12 while Mobley has notched two double-doubles this season including an impressive performance against nationally recognized Rutgers at the Gulf Coast Showcase with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Together the two average an impressive 26.7 points and 14.4 rebounds in seven games.Â

Thursday's contest between Western Michigan and Olivet College will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
SCOUTING THE COMETS
Before Thursday night's contest, the Comets (2-1) travel to Hope College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Prior to Wednesday, OC averages 75 points per game, shooting 38 percent from the field. Five players average in double figures but junior Shannon Dingman leads all players with 13.3 points. Olivet is coached by Zach Ingles, who is in his second season at the helm. The Comets went 2-22 overall last season including a 1-10 record on the road.
