ROAD WARRIORS
The Broncos (2-1), who have played all three games on the road, head to Iowa City, Iowa, continuing their seven-game road trip this season. Western Michigan dropped its first season opener under head coach Shane Clipfell in a hostile environment at New Mexico before defeating WAC powerhouse New Mexico State and Loyola-Chicago. In the latest game against the Ramblers, redshirt junior transfer Jasmyn Walker recorded a career-high 20 points, going 8-for-12 from the field while senior LaTondra Brooks grabbed a career-high seven steals to help the Broncos pick up their second consecutive victory. The Broncos conclude the road stand competing in the Florida Gulf Coast Showcase from Nov. 24-26 where they will play three contests, beginning with St. John's on Friday, Nov. 24.

TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
As a team, the Broncos have proven to take care of the ball against their opponents this season. Through its first three games, WMU averages 10.0 turnovers per game which ranks them seventh in the nation. The Broncos also tally a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio per game, good for 32nd in the country. Junior point guard Deja Wimby leads the way with an impressive 5.67 assist-to-turnover ratio, which ranks her 27th out of 247 players in the country. Â

SISTER SISTER
The Walker sisters in redshirt junior Jasmyn Walker and freshman Jordan Walker have made big impacts in their first three games with the Brown & Gold. Valparaiso transfer Jasmyn, sat out last season due to NCAA transfer rules, is second on the team with 12.3 points per game and led the Broncos last time out at Loyola-Chicago pouring in a career-high 20 points. During her senior year at Mona Shores High School, Jordan was named Michigan's Miss Basketball. The freshman averages 8.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists this season and scored a career-high 11 points in her first game in a Bronco uniform at New Mexico.

#POSTUNIT
As a whole, the Western Michigan post unit including redshirt senior Marley Hill, freshman Leighah-Amori Wool and sophomore Emma VanZanten have shot 40 percent (4-for-10) from outside the arc in their last two games. The dynamic three shot 60 percent at New Mexico State including Hill's crucial three down the stretch to help seal the Bronco victory while Wool and VanZanten tallied their first career three-pointer against the Aggies. Wool also added another long-ranger at Loyola-Chicago on Wednesday evening as the freshman tied a career-high five points.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Backed by double-doubles from junior Breanna Mobley and redshirt senior Marley Hill, Western Michigan picked up its first win of the season at New Mexico State. Hill recorded her third career double-double off a game-high 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds while Mobley notched her 20th career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. In just two games of the early season, together the two average 28.5 points and 19.5 rebounds. Mobley leads the Broncos this season with 13.0 points and 9.3 rebounds and ranks 22nd in the nation in offensive rebounds per game with five.

WHO'S RETURNING
The Broncos return 11 letterwinners including three full-time starters in redshirt senior Marley Hill, and juniors Breanna Mobley and Deja Wimby. Mobley led the Broncos last season averaging 14.4 points and 9.9 rebounds and was honored to the Third Team All-MAC and the All-MAC Defensive Team. Wimby is coming off a tremendous season averaging 11.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists. The guard was also named to the All-MAC Defensive Team. Hill started in all 32 games, averaging 13.7 points and 5.6 rebounds while leading the team with 34 blocks.

WMU brings back five players that started at least one game last season with senior Najee Smith (18), senior LaTondra Brooks (10), junior Meredith Miller (2), junior Aneisha Carlisle (2) and junior Logan McCane (2). Expected to make an impact this season is transfer student Jasmyn Walker (Valparaiso), who redshirted last season due to NCAA transfer rules.

NEWCOMERS
A total of four freshmen will hit the court for the Broncos this season, including Kia Brooks (Chicago, Ill. / North Lawndale), Nina Farkic (Kitchener, Ont. / Cameron Heights), Jordan Walker (Muskegon, Mich. / Mona Shores) and Leighah Wool (Evanston, Ill. / Evanston). Brooks finished her high school career as a two-time all-conference selection while Farkic was named WCSSAA First Team All-Star. Walker was named Michigan Miss Basketball after averaging 22.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists, shooting 43 percent from the floor during her senior campaign. Wool was an all-state selection and a two-time CSL South All-Conference selection while being named an ESPN Top-100 Midwest Player.

Sunday's contest will be the first meeting between the Broncos and the Hawkeyes. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (ET) at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

HAWKEYES SCOUTING REPORT
For the first time in school history, Iowa (3-0) has scored 100 or more points in back-to-back games defeating Western Kentucky in overtime and Mid-American Conference foe Northern Illinois. The Hawkeyes enter Sunday's matchup after receiving four votes in this week's AP Top-25 Poll (Nov. 13) and are led by junior Megan Gustafson who averages a double-double with 24.3 points and 14.3 rebounds. Three other players are averaging double digits in scoring. As a team, the Hawkeyes are outscoring their opponents by 16 points and are dominating the glass with a plus 17.7 rebound margin.

THE RETURN TO IOWA CITY
WMU's assistant coach Tangela Smith is a former Iowa standout where she was a letterwinner from 1994-98. The All-American and Big Ten Player of the Year ranks third all-time in blocks (235), sixth in rebound (859) and ninth in scoring (1598) at Iowa and was drafted by the Sacramento Monarchs as the 12th overall pick in the 1998 WNBA Draft.
