COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After a five-point weekend, Western Michigan hockey's Colt Conrad has been named National Collegiate Hockey Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Conrad played a big part in the split with Ferris State to open the regular season. On Friday he netted a goal and tallied three assists for his second career four-point game in WMU's 6-1 win over the Bulldogs. On Saturday he helped spark the comeback bid, scoring a power play goal in the third period to cut FSU's lead to 3-2.
The junior forward's five points currently lead the NCAA. Last year he set career highs in points, goals and assists after finishing the season tied for fourth with 29 points on 13 goals and 16 assists.
Conrad and the Broncos are back in action on Tuesday night, hosting Bowling Green at 7 p.m.
