KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team finished the Bobby Bayliss Invitational on Sunday going 6-4 in singles while notching a 3-2 doubles record in the final day of competition. After three competitive days, the Broncos left Notre Dame with a combined 22-17 singles record and a 5-5 record in doubles play.

WMU picked up singles wins Sunday afternoon from six different Broncos including three different players going 3-1 during the weekend. Senior
Billy Heckman picked up his third-straight victory after defeating Marquette's Julian Robinson (6-3, 6-3) while senior
Maik Steiner and junior
Nick Schnobel also went 3-1. Sophomore
Kennosuke Nouchi bounced back after losing his first singles match on Friday winning his next two for the Broncos going 2-1 in the competitive field.
The duo of Nouchi/Heckman got things started for the Broncos in doubles on Sunday defeating Marquette's Gomez/Shanklin while Schnobel/Olivarez and
Kris Knof/
Lenhard Haupt followed suit. After the weekend, partners Schnobel and Olivarez now hold an undefeated 2-0 record this season, tying a team high.
Following the weekend, the Broncos take a break from play returning to the courts on Oct. 19 through Oct. 23 to participate in the ITA Midwest Regionals in Ann Arbor, Mich.
