KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan men's soccer team (14-2-1) national ranking has moved up to No. 5 in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Broncos RPI is No. 8 in Division I men's soccer.

TopDrawerSoccer has WMU at No. 6 in its rankings. Western Michigan is the highest ranked team in the Mid-American Conference in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
The No. 5 ranking is the highest for the Broncos in school history. The previous high was No. 6 which was last week's ranking. The Broncos have now been ranked for seven consecutive weeks. The Broncos debuted in the United Soccer Coaches poll this season on Sept. 12 at No. 24. WMU moved up 12 spots the following week to No. 12. After a big win against No. 22 Michigan and UMBC, the Broncos then moved to No. 9. After a loss to Portland the Broncos fell to No. 13 but returned to the top-10 after wins against Akron and Northern Illinois. After another 2-0 week with wins against Green Bay and an overtime win at West Virginia the Broncos moved to No. 6. WMU defeated SIU Edwardsville last week and now has moved to No. 5.
Western Michigan is 14-2-1 overall and 4-0-0 in the MAC this season. With the victory over SIU Edwardsville the Broncos clinched the programs first ever MAC Regular Season Championship. The Broncos also received the No. 1 seed in the MAC Tournament and the right to host conference postseason play, Nov. 10 &12.
WMU closes out its regular season schedule with Senior Day this Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. against Bowling Green at the WMU Soccer Complex.
