KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the second-straight week the Western Michigan hockey team has received votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

The Broncos received seven votes this week after earning 12 the previous week. WMU is ranked 20th in USCHO.com's preseason poll, but the organization waits until the first full week of games has been completed to release its second poll.

WMU closed out last season in the No. 10 spot in the poll after making its sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Broncos spent 20 weeks of the 2016-17 season in the national rankings, including 10 in the top 10.

Western Michigan opens the 2017-18 regular season hosting Ferris State on Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX and online at wmubroncos.com/tickets. On Saturday the Broncos head to Big Rapids to take on the Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Friday's game can be watched on NCHC.tv, while Saturday's game can be seen live on WCHA.tv.
