KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan men's soccer team (13-2-1) national ranking has moved up to No. 6 in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Broncos RPI is also No. 6 in Division I men's soccer.

TopDrawerSoccer has WMU at No. 7 in its rankings. Throughout all formats Western Michigan is the highest ranked team in the Mid-American Conference.
The No. 6 ranking is the highest for the Broncos in school history. The previous high was No. 8 which was last week's ranking. The Broncos have now been ranked for six consecutive weeks. The Broncos debuted in the United Soccer Coaches poll this season on Sept. 12 at No. 24. WMU moved up 12 spots the following week to No. 12. After a big win against No. 22 Michigan and UMBC the Broncos then moved to No. 9. After a loss to Portland the Broncos fell to No. 13 but returned to the top-10 after wins against Akron and Northern Illinois. After another 2-0 week with wins against Green Bay and an overtime win at West Virginia the Broncos have moved to No. 6.
The Broncos 13 wins are a new program record for victories in a season. The 1988 and 2003 teams each won 12 games. The current Broncos have a 13-2-1 record and are undefeated in Mid-American Conference play with a 3-0-0 record.
