CLEVELAND, Ohio – Western Michigan freshman outside hitter Rachel Bontrager has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week after her dominant performance in wins over Kent State and Ohio over the weekend.

Bontrager averaged 5.62 kills per set while recording 25 kills in a 3-1 win over the Golden Flashes and 20 kills in a 3-1 win over the Bobcats. Against KSU 10 of her kills came during the final set, while hitting .393 in the match. She also finished just one dig shy of a double-double. Against the Bobcats she hit .255 and had two aces with her match-high kill total.

This is the second MAC West Offensive Player of the Week award for Bontrager, who leads the team with 3.28 kills per set.
