KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan senior midfielder
Brandon Bye has been named to the
College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

Bye scored in the 96th minute as the No. 8 ranked Western Michigan men's soccer team defeated No. 15 West Virginia 1-0 in overtime Friday on the road. Bye also found the back of the net twice earlier in the week against Green Bay.

Bye has had an extremely productive this season and has received several national and conference awards. Along with
College Soccer News National Team of the Week, Bye has been named
College Soccer News National Player of the Week,
TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week and Mid-American C Player of the Week. Bye leads the MAC in shots (72), shots per game (4.8), points (27) and goals (11).

The win was WMU's 13th of the season, setting a new program record for victories in a season. The 1988 and 2003 teams each won 12 games. The current Broncos have a 13-2-1 record and are undefeated in Mid-American Conference play with a 3-0-0 record.

WMU is currently ranked No. 8 in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The No. 8 ranking is the highest for the Broncos in school history. The previous high was No. 9 earlier in late September. The Broncos have now been ranked for five consecutive weeks. WMU now is ranked No. 6 in the men's soccer RPI.

Western Michigan's next game is at the WMU Soccer Complex on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. against SIU Edwardsville. Â
