The singles main draw began Friday morning as Steiner got the Broncos going, defeating Youngstown State's Veremeichuk, 7-6(4), 6-2, and Kobelt from Ohio State. The senior moves on to the round of 32 and improves his single season record to 9-2 overall. Winners of the main draw will receive an automatic berth to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.

No. 79 ranked Kennosuke Nouchi fell short in a tough battle to Northwestern's Brookes (6-2, 4-6, 6-1) but bounced back in the consolation round of 32 picking up his second singles win of the season.

The Broncos represented well in the doubles main draw yesterday after going 7-3 overall, highlighted by Eric Olivarez and Nick Schnobel advancing to the quarterfinals. The pair dropped their first match of the season together on Friday afternoon, falling to Ohio State's Joyce and McNally in the quarterfinals. The juniors are now 5-1 overall in doubles play.
