Moni Named to TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan junior midfielder Kosti Moni has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week.

Moni scored the game-winning goal less than four minutes into the contest as the nationally No. 8 ranked Broncos rolled to a 5-0 victory at Northern Illinois on Saturday. Moni also scored the game-winning goal in the 19th minute of yesterday's 3-0 win over Green Bay. Moni now has four goals on the season.

Moni is the fourth Bronco to be named to TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week this season, joining redshirt junior goalkeeper Elijah Michaels, senior midfielder Brandon Bye and senior forward Jay McIntosh.

The Broncos improved to 12-2-1 on the season with a win against Green Bay yesterday, the 12 wins ties the most in school history, matching the 1988 and 2003 MAC Tournament Championship team.

WMU is currently ranked No. 8 in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The No. 8 ranking is the highest for the Broncos in school history. The previous high was No. 9 earlier in late September. The Broncos have now been ranked for five consecutive weeks.

WMU's next game is at West Virginia for a Mid-American Conference matchup on Friday, Oct. 20 starting at 7 p.m.
